Open Arms One-To-One Services provide one-on-one behavioral interventions with children and youth receiving specialty mental health services in the client's home/residential placement and school. 
 
A Behavioral Support Specialist Counselor will participate in on-going training in highly specialized strategies and interventions for implementing individualized behavior plans and will be expected to use training to take appropriate actions to deal with recurring behavioral situations with the supervision of the teacher. Open Arms will ensure that all Behavioral Support Specialist Counselors maintain ethnic and cultural sensitivity and implement strategies that are geared toward the developmental stages of the children.
 
All participants have a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).  A Behavior Intervention Plan is a plan that utilizes positive behavioral interventions and supports to address specific behaviors that interfere with the learning of students with disabilities, the learning of others around disruptive students or behaviors that require disciplinary action.
 
The Behavior Support Specialist Counselor works directly with certified educators to collect data, monitor behavior and other tasks vital to the special needs of students with behavioral challenges.
